I have lived in the Chula Vista for over 35 years where my wife and I have raised two lovely children.

I have a master's degree in Education and a doctorate degree in the field Leadership and Management. I am a dedicated, professional educator. My experience at managing and leading educational organizations spans over 30 years, in which I have developed human resource, technology implementation, budget management and policy implementation expertise. In addition I have seventeen years of teaching experience, which gives me the ability to empathize with the challenges that teachers face on a daily basis.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I believe that having the capacity to communicate in two languages increases your capacity to understand the perspective of others. I am an effective communicator with the ability to discuss the tough issues in a productive way.

One significant community accomplishment for which I am very proud was the opportunity to take a leadership role in helping pass of a 187 million dollar school improvement initiative which has significantly improved the safety, longevity and usability of our local secondary schools.
