Political Philosophy for Rocky J. Chavez
Candidate for |
He isn't a professional politician. He is a husband, father, Marine Corps veteran and community leader who believes in the values of hard work and honesty. Rocky is running for re-election to the Oceanside City Council because he wants to ensure a better community for our children and grandchildren. In order to do this we must elect people who are not afraid to make real changes at city hall. We must elect leaders like Rocky. Rocky will continue to bring honesty, hard work and common sense to Oceanside City Hall. He will fight to reduce city fees and he will demand that the city operate with a balanced budget with prudent reserves. When re-elected, at his first city council meeting he will propose a management review of all city departments and programs in order to root out waste and inefficiency. His vision for Oceanside is one of economic diversity that provides for a high quality of life in a safe environment. It speaks volumes that one of the top two employers in the city is...the city! Rocky will work to provide an attractive atmosphere for businesses to locate here and grow. He'll work to eliminate red tape and bureaucracy allowing local businesses to grow and create new jobs for all of us! Fighting for those who cannot protect themselves. Whether it is protecting the elderly from abuse, women from domestic violence or making our neighborhoods and schools safe, public safety is Rocky's top priority. He won't play games or cut corners when it comes to providing our city with the best-trained and equipped police and firefighters in San Diego County. Oceanside is set in a beautiful natural environment and we enjoy a unique lifestyle. Rocky will work to protect our beach, lagoon and harbor from pollution. He'll only support quality, sensible growth that enhances Oceanside's natural surroundings. He supports improving our neighborhood parks and expanding youth programs. |
