San Diego County, CA | November 7, 2006 Election |
Continued Rise In ExcellenceBy Scott L. BarrCandidate for Board Member; Alpine Union School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
In spite of administrative turnover, during my four year term as a trustee, test scores have risen every year, while educators and parents work collaboratively to ensure each child's success.I have served on the Alpine School Board for four years. During that time five of the eight district administrators have been hired, including the superintendent, assistant superintendent and three principals. In spite of this, we have succeeded in test scores rising each year. Today, AUSD enjoys the highest state test scores in the East County! I am the only incubmant running for re-election. This concerns me. Studies show that stable, collaborative boards afford districts the opportunity to build highly successful centers for teaching and learning. I will ensure that trustees, administrators, teachers and staff continue to work as a team to solve whatever obstacles to learning arise. Specifically, AUSD's strategic plan is in its third year of implementation. Consequently, each succeeding year, teachers, staff and parents are increasingly clear of the role each plays in the success of every student. |
