Rick Alexander Vice-President Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District Board of Trustees An East County resident with my wife Joan and daughters for 34 years. Military Service: U.S. Army, Communications Officer Dear Voter: When first elected to the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District it was in near financial ruin. Taking a leadership role, I stopped the deficit spending, removed the negligent administrators and instituted cost controls. Today the District's financial footing is strong. Until this year the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District was funded at a lower rate than the Los Angeles Community College District, I helped change this by leading a statewide effort to get our students funded at the same level as Los Angeles. Our students now benefit. I have made sure that we have kept our promise to the voters of East County and repaired, renovated and constructed new buildings, including new science buildings at both colleges. Staying within budget and bringing jobs to East County. In the last two years the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College has received twelve clean audits for all aspects of its general fund and building programs. We have one of the highest Bond Ratings for community colleges, saving the taxpayer money. I have made the tough decisions so that students are better prepared for today's competitive job market and transfer to four-year universities. Please vote for a candidate who will continue to produce results + VOTE: RICK ALEXANDER. |
