Candidate for
Council Member; City of Milpitas

My name is Heidi Pham. I work with the County Probation Department, supporting law enforcement efforts. I am a mother of two who has worked with school districts, juvenile programs, and various community-based organizations in my community.

On the last day of the Viet Nam war, my family ran across the Saigon Airport while bombs were falling to catch one of the last planes out. I was 17. With the support of many people and lots of hard work, I was able to finish school, attend the University of Utah and graduate with a degree in Political Science. I'm proud that my daughter, Vivian, graduated with an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is now designing flight controls for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. My son, Ryan, attends public school in Milpitas. My service to the community started while in high school and has included these roles:

• member of the Naval Reserve for 6 years
• Building Peaceful Families board member
• member of Milpitas Community Advisory Commission
• precinct officer at voter polling places for 14 years
• PTA member at Laneview Elem. School (Berryyessa)
• board member of Peachtree Homeowners Assoc.
• Women and Minorities in Business commissioner
