A Letter to the Voters

A letter of welcome. It is summary of my values and why I am a candidate

I am a candidate for the Board of Trustees, Area 1. I hope these pages give you a good feel of whom I am and why I want to serve our community colleges as a trustee. I have had a long career as a faculty member, serving with a number of honors from both my professional colleagues and, most importantly, from the students.

I am aware of the responsibility to be representative of all facets of the community and the danger of being a one dimensional candidate. Values that have driven my life to this point are a sense of integrity, an effort to think clearly and critically about issues, an effort to exercise compassion and understanding and both see and express humor as life unfolds. After all if it things are not fun sometimes, life becomes drudgery.
