Two years ago I ran on the platform to get the crucially needed 3rd high school built for our community. Working behind the scenes along with the Measure B committee and the district superintendent, Measure B passed with a 70% margin. Liberty Ranch High School is now on the drawing board and as a member of the Independant Citizens Bond Oversite Committee, I want to help get our school built on time and on budget. I want to ensure that our community gets what it voted for: a complete comprehensive high school. A school that will provide top academies and programs for all of our children. A school that will be top notch to attract and sustain top faculty members. A school that will make our community proud.

I want to see that Galt High School gets modernized. Galt High school needs to be brought up to state codes and ADA standards. Make Galt High school more energy efficient and accessible to everyone. For the future, I would like to see new 2-story buildings replace a good number of the portables that are now there. Our children deserve better.

I want to see a Joint-Use Performing Arts facility with the City of Galt for our community. A facility where our children can perform plays and musical concerts. I want to see increased local community and business involvement with our school district. Most other local districts have businesses helping build facilities and fund programs.

I want to see a consensus among the Galt High School board of Trustees. I want the board to be held accountable for it's actions. I want to bring back trust with the local community. Right now our community does not have that kind of trust.

I want to see improved testing scores and graduation rates for all of our students. Some of our testing has gone up, but many are still way behind.

Thanks for listening and I ask for your vote on November 7, 2006.
