I have been married for 24 years to my wife Eileen. We have two sons, Shawn, 20 and Adam, 17. I am the Outreach Coordinator for the Corona Public Library and am involved with the children's storytelling program. I read stories in a lively and humorous fashion enchanting young people of all ages. But, that has not always been the case. For more than 30 years I was illiterate. I managed to graduate from high school, but admit that I could only read a few words on my diploma. About this time, my second grade son, Shawn began asking for help with his homework that I could not provide. At my wife's suggestion, I began literacy classes at the Corona Public Library. Drawing from my unique experience in literacy, I feel that every child can learn and every child can succeed. |
