Candidate for
Board Member; Desert Sands Unified School District

Born and raised in Montana, I graduated from Montana State University--Billings in 1978. Employed as CPA and Director of Finance for the City of Bozeman, Montana, until 1984, when I moved to the Coachella Valley. Since then, I have worked as controller for DiMare Company, Chief Financial Officer for Ironwood Country Club, Accounting Manager for the City of La Quinta, Co-owner and Chief Financial Officer for Mark Draper Enterprises/Del Puerto Harvesting. My present employment is as Director of Finance for Coachella Valley Water District.

I also received a master's degree from Chapman University, in Psychology, and worked at the Betty Ford Center as a pastoral and family counselor.

My daughter Stacey Draper was raised in Indio and Palm Desert, and she graduated from Palm Desert High School in 1995. She received an excellent education here, and has completed a master's degree at Chicago Art Institute.

My husband Greg Ammons is a Lieutenant in the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and works in the Palm Desert station.

My husband and I share a strong commitment to the Coachella Valley and its citizens.
