Arguments For Measure L
In 1978 the residents of the Kentfield Fire Protection District, by an overwhelming majority, approved Measure H, allowing the Fire District to assess a special tax not to exceed 6 cents per square foot of improved floor area, as defined on the Marin County Assessor's roles, for each improved parcel. Unimproved parcels are assessed at up to 20 dollars per acre.

In 1980 Proposition 4, a statewide initiative, was passed which limits the amount of revenues local government can collect without local voter approval. Although the residents of the Fire District have given their approval for up to 6 cents of special assessment, Measure L is necessary to continue the use of this assessment.

  • Measure L will NOT increase taxes
  • Measure L will maintain your Fire District's current level of fire and emergency medical services
  • Vote `YES' on Measure L
