Political Philosophy for Diane M. Grattaroti
Candidate for |

|
Key issues as a council member: Public Safety: No matter how much we grow, our growth will not be positive if this is not a safe place to live. Infrastructure: Our streets, roads, drainage, curbs and gutters need to be a priority. Ridgecrest has seen some tough financial times. We need to be creative with our new prosperity. Council needs to encourage staff to continue to look for grants that will provide matching funds so that we may apply for state and federal funding. Youth Activities: Our youth are our future. We are charged with making their growing up years a positive experience with the best guidance we can provide. Senior Quality of Life: Our seniors are how we became who we are. We owe our seniors a respectful, peaceful golden time of their lives. Thoughts on issues in our community: Economic Development: Should be approached as two-fold. We must continue to support NAWS China Lake and the BRAC in every way possible. We also must work to bring light to medium industry into our community. Eminent Domain: Should NEVER be used until all other resources are explored and then only for the good of the whole community. It should never be used to take from one business to give to another. Structured Growth: Our growth should be done in a positive manner with an emphasis on low density. By doing this we will continue to maintain our "small town" atmosphere and still accommodate our expected rise in population. |
