Proposed Library Plan

By Jake Bronson

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Walnut Creek

This information is provided by the candidate
The process has taken to long and has become a financial burden.
I receive more inquiries about our library plan than any other issue. We have spent over nine years in the planning stages, longer than it took us to put a man on the moon from inception, and the library is still not built plus it is underfinanced. The existing plan is based on a voter approved parcel tax , and or, a state library bond measure. It is unfortunate that neither of these measures passed, but those are the facts and we must have a sound financial plan to move ahead as quickly as possible. Save the heritage oak tree in the parking lot. This tree and other are our connection to the past and part of our vision for the future.
