Political Philosophy for Todd Sturgis
Candidate for |

|
I am running for CUSD School Board because I feel that the parents of the District are disenfranchised with this Board and feel that their voice has been lost and/or ignored. I want to change that, when parents have problems or concerns they should have someone on the Board they can come to and voice their concerns to and know that they will be listened to. I WILL be that person. If elected, the first task at hand will be to move the public comment section of the agenda back to the front so that parents will not have to wait till the end of the meeting to voice their concerns to the Board. I will also be getting the parents involved more with sharing their ideas on how they want their School District to be run. I have been involved in PTA for 3 years at the school level and at the district level and know how important it is to support our schools as well as our teachers. I believe our teachers have one of the hardest jobs because they are charged with the task of shaping and teaching our most prized possessions, our children. They deserve our support! The job not only lies with the teachers, it is a "Team Sport", it takes Teachers, Parents, Staff, District Officials, and even Board Members to make this team successful. Lastly, I can promise only one thing, if elected, every decision I make regarding this School District will be guided by one thing and one thing only; what is best for the children of this community and this School District, and that includes my own children! |
