Political Philosophy for E. F. "Gene" Lucas
Candidate for |
In my view, it is impossible to separate political philosophy from educational philosophy, and my educational philosophy is Jeffersonian. Thomas Jefferson believed that freedom could only continue if the populace was educated, and he fathered the idea of free public education - even at the college level, for students who could not afford it. California has reaped great rewards from our past investment in education, with the largest public education system in the country, or the world. We need to continue to improve our educational system so that our state and nation can continue to be greater and better. That improvement begins at the school district level - at CUSD for our area. We must not fail our students. |
