Candidate for
Auditor; City of Berkeley

I was elected City Auditor in 1994. A Cal graduate, I have twenty years of experience as a community activist, business owner, and consultant to nonprofits and small businesses, followed by 12 years of experience as Berkeley City Auditor.

During the passed twelve years, I've passed the California CPA exam, been credentialed as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP), served as Advocacy Committee Chair and Board Member of the national Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA), and managed a well-respected performance audit organization.

I've remained active in the community through the National Women's Political Caucus and other organizations. I've advocated for greater performance accountability in local governments and school districts, conducting seminars for the League of California Cities, and consulting with local cities and school districts about establishing and improving independent audit committees and independent staff audit functions.
