(en español, vea abajo)

BEVERLY FOSTER Age: 52

Occupation: Community Social Services Director

My education and qualifications are: I have been representing District three of the San Joaquin County School Board since being elected in 1990 and then re-elected in 1996 and 2002. District five, of the Stockton City Council, sits inside of the School Board District that I presently represent.

I am a proud product of S.U.S.D. and hold a Bachelors Degree in Christian Education.

Our city and community have always been important to me and I have proven this by staying totally involved in the betterment of our city. I have served on the Stockton Transit Board, Stockton Crime Commission, Stockton Community Redevelopment Board, and as President of the Fairview Terrace/Seven Oaks Neighborhood Commission Board. In July of 2005, I was voted President of the San Joaquin County School Board.

In May of 2005, I was the first to announce my candidacy for Stockton City Council District 5, after being approached by numerous constituents in our district.

City Council District 5 needs strong leadership and someone familiar with the workings of City Hall, not afraid to ask the hard questions. I have learned the importance of listening to those we serve and being responsive to community concerns. As your City Council representative, I will continue to promote safety, support revitalization for all neighborhoods, continue to work for job creations, be accountable and accessible.

I respectfully ask for your vote on June 6, 2006. A vote for me will mean strong representation for City Council District # 5.

DECLARACI"N DE CANDIDATO PARA MIEMBRO

DEL CONCEJO DE LA CIUDAD DE STOCKTON, DISTRITO 5

BEVERLY FOSTER Edad: 52
