(en español, vea abajo) SUSAN TALAMANTES EGGMAN Age: 45 Occupation: Social Work Educator My education and qualifications are: I am a strong independent leader with integrity. When I talk with voters, I consistently hear that people think it is time for a change. I am not a part of the local political establishment and I am accountable to no one but the voters. I am not a politician; I am a social worker and educator. I have over 25 years experience in medical social work including counseling those struggling with addictions and mental health issues, working in emergency rooms, and as a hospice social worker. I am now a University professor. As a city council person I will focus on the critical issues of crime, housing, employment and creating safe livable neighborhoods where everyone is afforded opportunities for success. There must be an open and informed City Council. I understand that people elect council members to act in the best interest of the public. I will listen, question, discuss, and act. As the city continues to support new development, we cannot forget existing neighborhoods and the people that are fighting hard to create better lives for their families. We need to repair streets and improve services so that people can take pride in where they live. We cannot just worry about crime after it is committed, but we must prevent it from happening in the first place by investing in people. I share your values of family, community, and the faith that working hard today will create a better tomorrow. Together we can make a better Stockton. Me dedicaré a escuchar, cuestionar, a dialogar y a actuar. Juntos podemos mejorar a Stockton. |
