Dr. Nancy Kotowski, Preparing Our Students for the Future

By Nancy Kotowski

Candidate for Superintendent; Monterey County Schools

This information is provided by the candidate
A proven leader for Monterey County, Dr. Nancy Kotowski's 33 years of distinguished service in education make her the right educational leader for the future.
I have been County Associate Superintendent of Schools for 14 years and have a strong record of accomplishment and proven educational leadership.

There are four pillars of my vision for education in Monterey County: fiscal accountability, student achievement, student safety and health, and highly qualified teachers. I will lead Monterey County education to the next level of excellence.

Dr. Bill Barr, retiring County Superintendent of Schools, has endorsed me. Together we have established a clear course of accountability.

Our schools have made consistent improvement in student achievement over the past six years. We have provided strong leadership in requiring balanced budgets with safe reserves.

I have a positive working relationship with school employees and parents, and many successful partnerships, including Monterey County Reads with Sylvia Panetta; Workplace Connections with the Monterey County Business Council; and Teacher Workforce Initiative with a consortium of colleges, universities, teachers and school districts.

My educational background and experience includes a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Southern California and service as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer.

I am the strong leader needed to prepare our students for success in the 21st century.

I ask for your vote and your support.
