Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Jeff Duclos

Candidate for
City Council; City of Hermosa Beach

This information is provided by the candidate

Before you cast your vote in the June 6th Special Election, you need to know more than how a City Councilmember candidate will vote on a specific issue. You should know the principles upon which they will frame their vote on every issue. Here are mine:

I believe a great community is based upon the belief that each generation has an obligation to provide for the next and that each citizen matters. I believe that City government has an obligation to instill in its residents the desire to participate in their government and to provide them with the means to do so.

I believe we must provide the best climate possible in which our local businesses can thrive and that we must always provide our Police and Fire departments with the resources they need to adequately protect us, because a decline in public safety will bring a decline in our community.

I believe that community growth cannot occur without an equal commitment to community renewal and that environmental considerations must be entrenched in our economic policymaking.

I believe we must provide the best materials, engaging challenges, equal opportunities, and ample fun for every student in our schools.

Most of all, I believe a change is needed in our City: A change to bring new energy and new perspectives to problems; A change to bring together the shared energy, ideals and objectives that will protect the things we value and will elevate Hermosa Beach into being the best community it can possibly be.
