Improving Public Safety and Disaster Preparedness in Hermosa Beach

By Patrick "Kit" Bobko

Candidate for City Council; City of Hermosa Beach

This information is provided by the candidate
I am running for City Council because I am committed to improving our city. One of my top priorities is to improve public safety and disaster preparedness.

If I am elected I will:

· Make sure our City has the tools it needs to respond to all its residents in the hour of crisis, such as the installation of a direct and secure communication link between our City's schools and our Police and Fire Departments. I will also insure our City has secure communication with State and federal responders;

· Work with my colleagues in our neighbor cities to insure we have a comprehensive and coordinated plan for responding to natural and man-made disasters in the Beach Cities;

· Vote to make Hermosa Beach a wireless city and will work to incorporate new technologies into our Police and Fire Departments so they have immediate access to the information they need when responding to emergencies;

· Encourage and support local groups like the Hermosa Beach MOMS who disseminate emergency response information and organize training for residents.

Among the many stark lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina and other recent catastrophic events is that there is no substitute for individual preparedness.

And of course, I am always interested from hearing from you. Please feel free to contact me at (310) 989-1386, or at Kit@KitforCouncil.com.

Sincerely,

Patrick "Kit" Bobko
