The questions were prepared by the LWV Cincinnati Area and asked of all candidates for this office.
Read the answers from all candidates (who have responded).
1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)
I am a part time firefighter in the City of Madeira. I have also have been the president of Madeira Youth Soccer for 3 years, working countless hours for free to make the city a better place. I care about the city and I feel the city can do better.
2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)
We need to increase manpower at the Madeira Fire station to 4 firefighter everyday. This would allow the dept. to respond to all medical and fire needs with reduced response times. Becoming more effective and reduce the loss of lives and property. Hire full time park manager who would be responsible for all maintenance and improvements. This would help the parks to be one of the best in the area. In my plan this all can be done without increasing taxes.
3. What steps would you take to ensure that all public facilities are accessible to people with disabilities? (100 words limit)
At this time all city buildings are accessible. My father has a physical disability so I will make it a point to make sure all public buildings continue to be accessible.
4. What specific steps will you take to expand recycling services in your community? (100 words limit)
The city needs to develop a recycling/mulching program for yard waste. To much usable yard waste is sent to the land fill. We need program with help from Toro lawn eguipment showing the citizens that new mower can mulch leaves and grass. Thus leaving nutrients and water back into your yard and not sending it to the dump. I have done this with other communities I can do it here.
5. What steps would you take to provide affordable housing for all residents of your community? (100 words limit)
We need to keep Madeira a safe place to live and raise a family. Need to keep property values strong. To make buying a home in Madeira a good investment for you and your family.
