I was born and raised in San Francisco and have lived in San Bruno with my wife, Connie, and my son, Zach, for 18 years. I graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. I am a successful local businessman, running my own professional photography business. I have photographed the people and the events of San Mateo County for more than 22 years.

I am currently on the Board of Directors with the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce, working to promote business in our city. For the chamber, I have facilitated the annual planning session for two years and have worked on the Membership Drive, The Autumn Fest, and the Business Expo, among other projects.

For the past five years, I have volunteered my time every year for Operation Clean Sweep, the annual city-wide cleanup project, cleaning up garbage and registering and organizing volunteers.

I have sat on several committees including the District Curriculum Council, the Principal's Selection Committee (Belle Air School), the Assistant Police Chief search committee, and the San Mateo County Homeless Shelter Task Force.

As PTA co-president at Belle Air school for two years, I facilitated board and committee meetings and worked on numerous projects including the district's Uniform Policy which was implemented that year.

On Belle Air's Leadership Team, I worked for four years with teachers, students, and parents to help improve education for our students and also helped to obtain the Annenburg Grant to improve literacy.

I was the spokesperson for the San Bruno Citizens Coalition, a group that worked to save homes in San Bruno during the BART to SFO extension project.

As a private citizen, I have attended numerous city council, planning committee, study session, and other county and state meetings and have testified on behalf of the residents of San Bruno at PUC and CEC hearings concerning the safety and impacts of proposed local power plants and PG&E transmission line placement.
