Our wonderful City and neighborhoods did not happen by accident. It was because residents of Los Altos stepped forward and took on the role of guardians and leaders. That is a role I want to fulfill.

Good governance is about listening, respecting all views, and working to establish common ground. We need community leaders who will look out for the best interests of the Community at large, those that share the long view, who understand how to balance progress with preservation and benefit with burden. This is the philosophy I have followed since I first began serving the Los Altos community.

As your Council Member, I will work to achieve the following:

  • Maintain a balanced budget and build our reserves while providing public safety and sustaining our infrastructure.
  • Enhance the economic vitality of our seven business districts and encourage positive development downtown.
  • Intelligently address traffic, pedestrian and bicycle safety issues as a citywide plan rather than piece-meal fixes.
  • Utilize mixed-use development in commercial zones to provide housing above retail.
  • Preserve the residential character of our neighborhoods and closely examine non-residential developments proposed in them.
  • Encourage the use of Green Building techniques and energy saving technologies and materials.
  • Fulfill our City Mission to provide recreation facilities and services for all residents.

Let's work together to continue building a great Council, maintain our quality of life, and guard against those decisions that would erode the wonderful aspects of our community.
