Candidate for
Board Member to succeed TERI FERGUSON; Center Unified School District

Center School District serves fine students who are receiving an excellent education. They deserve a board of trustees that will place their interests at the center. In recent months the board has veered from its mission in a serious way. I seek to return the board to an appropriate path where proper procedure is used and mutual respect is evident. Recent months have seen personal concerns taking center stage and having serious consequences. That must end.

As a member of the CUSD Board I will work towards creating a collegial and co-operative atmosphere among board members, between the board and the parents of our student and between the board and our professional staff. I beleive strongly that differnces of opinion, style and philosophy among board members can be used as a source of strength and needn't be divisive. Each board member brings knowledge and life experience that adds depth to the board. The key element is for the board to set the needs of the students first and use that as the guiding principle.
