John is a well-known figure in the Palm Springs business community. With his partner of 23 years he owns and operates INNdulge, a successful boutique hotel in Palm Springs. John sits on the board of the Palm Springs Hotel and Hospitality Association, Small Hotels of Palm Springs, the Desert Gay Tourism Guild (as vice president and former president), the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism, the Desert Business Association (treasurer), and the Historic Site Preservation Board (former chair).
