The discussion and presentation at the board table this past year has been the possiblity of bringing a General Obligation Bond before district voters for future campus and facility building projects. At each presentation I have taken the position that until the district captures all existing state revenues and maximizes usage of existing facilities, such bond campaign is premature.
The district needs to become more efficient at capturing and using existing resources. The residents of this district should not be required to pay for future campus facilities until it is absolutely evident in every way that all state revenues are being captured and used to the highest level of efficiency. RCC built three campuses by producing high capacity load rates on their facilities and earning points to qualify for state funded facilities. RCC consistently makes their Cap and serves a percent of students above Cap of which they do not receive funding. MSJC needs to do the very same thing before asking voters to build them more campus facilites. I will be the voice on the board for your interest in this matter.
