I know I have made a significant difference in helping to chart the direction of the college these past few years. I also am very committed to making sure that our community college is available and affordable to those least able to easily achieve the goals of transfer to a four-year institution and/or workforce training. I welcome the opportunity to support the enhancement of the ESL programs at College of Marin, and I am committed, both in my work with Marin Education Fund and College of Marin, to see that more students from under-represented communities, and first in their family to go to college, will fulfill their dream of going to college, by starting at College of Marin.

At this time while the college is going through the planning and implementation of our $249.5 million general obligation bond, I am also uniquely qualified from my years of construction defect litigation wherein I worked with a number of design and construction consultants and learned how to avoid some common problems. I have also guided boards through several million-dollar reconstruction projects for my condominium and planned development clients.

I believe that I am a very capable leader on the board and have proven my leadership at the helm in the year that we made decisions about how best to utilize our Novato-IVC campus and other facilities issues, following county-wide meetings where we solicited the critical input of Marin residents. I then served two years later as president in the year we hired our new superintendent/president, finalized a facilities master plan and successfully ran a facilities general obligation bond campaign. Since passage of the bond, I have been instrumental in the review and selection process of construction managers, design professionals. I am also a consensus builder and have provided trusted leadership among the board members. I am willing to continue to do this important community work, I want to serve another term, and hope to have your support.

I respectfully ask for your vote on November 8th,

WANDEN P. TREANOR, Trustee, Marin Community College District
