I am running for Reed Union School Board of Trustees because I am passionately dedicated to our youth and our community. As a school board member and community leader, I have lead unprecedented accomplishments helping to create our distinguished district since moving to Tiburon 10 years ago. I will continue to ensure educational excellence for each child through effective strategic planning and fiscal responsibility.

I am committed to:

  • Distinguished school district - providing extraordinary education and life experience to graduate well rounded students who are academically prepared and empowered to make healthy decisions throughout their lives.

  • Exceedingly high student achievement - innovative curriculum and preparation for advanced proficiency of standards testing.

  • Differentiated learning - innovative programs including resource specialists, critical intervention program, learning centers at each school, individual special education plans through advanced learning programs to teach to the individual child.

  • Enriched student education - providing art, music, physical education, foreign language (integrated Spanish) and technology.

  • Strategic planning - continuous effective short and long range planning for proactive focused management of district's mission, objectives and financial solvency.

  • Fiscal responsibility - responsible budgeting; local support through Foundation for Reed Schools; creation of new endowments and business partnerships; healthy reserves; community support of parcel tax; analysis of district assets including surplus property.

  • Attracting and retaining finest teachers/administrators - rewarding teachers and staff with financial, professional and personal support through higher salaries, staff development and professional growth programs.

  • Compassionate culture - support character education programs to create a caring, responsive school culture that promotes involvement and connection for all.

  • Preparing our kids for THEIR future - embracing technology including ensuring successful integration of 1:1 laptop program, continued staff training and parent support.

  • Finishing facilities modernization - dedicated to successful passage of Measure A completion bond through active management as the steering committee leader.
