Dear friend of our schools,

The word is out. Neil Cummins Elementary and Hall Middle schools are where kids receive a top notch education. It's no wonder 81 more students joined our family of learners on the first day of school this fall than were enrolled last June (an 8% increase). In fact, district enrollment has been increasing for more than a decade. When parents hear about our success, they want their children to be a part of it.

I am running for school board trustee to ensure we sustain and enhance the high quality of education in our district, especially as we face growing enrollment.

I consider this as the next logical step in my commitment to our schools. I was Treasurer of the Corte Madera Larkspur Foundation, participated in the recent parcel tax campaign and have regularly attended school board meetings.

Moreover, my desire to serve as a trustee runs deep. My wife Amy and I feel fortunate to live in a community (for 12 years) that wholeheartedly supports its schools. We've watched our own children, grades 4 and 7, flourish under the outstanding teaching and administrative staff. From Open House evenings to choral music and band performances, we've witnessed excellence in teaching and excitement in learning.

Our district's continued record of distinction benefits not only our children but our entire community. Civic pride is strong, property values are high, and the Twin Cities is a great place to live.

As a trustee, I pledge to work diligently with my fellow board members and administration on behalf of every child, to be fiscally responsible, and consider carefully ideas and perspectives from the community at large.

Thank you in advance for your vote in the November 8th election.

Bruce Friedricks
