Full text of ballot statement for November 8th 2005 election.

Expand after-school tutoring programs, make our schools a source of pride in the community, assure our teachers are paid as professionals and held to high standards.

I am proud to have delivered on that promise:

Today we have renovated all of our schools to provide the best possible learning environment.

Our teaching staff is comprised of certificated, qualified professionals dedicated to our children's education.

Significant improvements have been made in student achievement in each of the last four years.

After-school tutoring is now available to each child at every school in our district.

This has all been achieved in a fiscally responsible manner with a balanced budget despite difficult economic times.

Our work continues:

As a proud parent of children in the district, a lifelong resident who graduated from Whittier schools, and a local business owner with a history of community involvement, I want to continue these efforts and tackle the new challenges ahead.

Our children's future depends on their education, and the quality of that education depends on us.

Please join me in continuing to improve our children's education.

I ask for your vote on November 8th.
