Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Lennox Elementary School District

Maria is a mother of 2 children and grandmother of 4. Both her children attended Lennox schools. She is originally from Honduras, C. A., immigrated to the United States in 1968, attended public schools from 7th grade through High School, obtained an Associate of Arts (AA), Bachelors in business Administration (BSBA)and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

Her working experience consists of 35 years in Finance in the private sector. Has held various responsibilities including management. She has served for nearly 8 years on the Centinela Valley Union High School District Board of Education, was appointed to the Lennox School district in July 2005 to fill a vacancy whose term was up this November and wants to continue to serve in this capacity.

Maria's drive for running for this office is to ensure that all students are provided with the guidance, care and necessary resources to succeed in High School and higher education.
