IMPROVING PUBLIC SAFETY
I am committed to improving public safety and emergency preparedness. As a leader of the Triangle neighborhood I worked to develop good police/community relationships and made sure the Fire Department had representation at our block parties. That's why I'm proud to have the support of both the Emeryville Police and Fire Fighters.
A WORLD CLASS COMMUNITY CENTER
I am committed to the Center of Community Life, a planned multi-use center to replace the AC Transit bus yard that will provide new opportunities for education, recreation and culture for our entire community.
REVITALIZING OUR SCHOOLS
I worked on the successful recall of the ineffective school board and helped pass Measure A in 2003, which provided critical school funding. I promise to continue to fight to revitalize our schools.
REDUCING TRAFFIC CONGESTION
I will fight to expand the Emery-Go-Round to residential neighborhoods and the West Oakland BART station; increase across town connectivity for bicycles, pedestrians, and cars; and ensure developers pay their fair share for traffic and parking improvements.
DIVERSIFYING OUR HOUSING SUPPLY
We need to diversify our housing supply of all sizes, so seniors, families and young professionals can all find homes here. I will fight to ensure all new development projects include affordable family homes with at least 3 bedrooms.
BUILDING NEW PARKS AND RECREATION AREAS
Emeryville needs more parks! Without a single soccer field or softball diamond, I will make it a priority to create sports-friendly recreation areas in our public parks.
