Candidate Statement

This election is more than just about the sewer, its about good government.

As a civil and environmental engineer, I have worked seven years for California Department of Transportation and three years for the U.S. Air Force. With Caltrans, I am a Senior Design Engineer responsible for the delivery of major capital projects, which includes performing engineering studies, alternatives analysis, writing engineer reports, drawing engineer plans and all putting together all aspects of project contracts. I am also the District Design Oversight Engineer for local government projects on the state highway system. At Vandenberg AFB, I ensured that all water quality issues complied with state and federal regulations. Starting from the time of my graduate work and throughout my career, I have been strongly drawn to all aspects of water quality, water resources, and wastewater treatment and design.

I have been honored to share my professional expertise and personal commitment to the community by serving five years on the LOCSD water operations committee and, more recently, on the Los Osos Technical Task Force.

I am committed to ensuring that our community is shaped by its citizens. My goals are to help restore our sense of community and common goals as part of + not excluded from + responsible groundwater basin management. Los Osos deserves a board that will provide the leadership to approach the sewer project, drinking water sustainability and other issues with intelligence, integrity and determination + based on the will of the people it serves.
