Biography of Eric Minamyer A Lifetime of Service Personal Born: June 26, 1953 in Salem Ohio, youngest of four sons in a working class family. Worked my way through college and law school. Married to Debbie; with two daughters, three stepsons, and two granddaughters. Two of our sons are currently on active duty, both in the Middle East Military Experience (Note I am the only Republican Candidate with such experience) Service in Middle East, during Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. If elected, I will be the first Iraqi Freedom Veteran in Congress. Inspector General for US Navy Central Command in theater of operations until October 2003, duties included procedures and regulations related to safety of our troops In the service from 1971 to 2004, retiring as an O-6 Navy Captain (same as Colonel in Army) Navy JAGC since Nov 1, 1977, active duty 1979-1982 Five times deployed to Middle East/Indian Ocean during armed conflict Speak conversational Arabic Service off coast of Somalia Education BA in History from University of Akron in 1975 Attended West Point, resigned due to football injury Juris Doctor from American University in 1978 LL. M. (Labor Law) from Georgetown University Law Center in 1982 Professional Former Congressional Aide to Republican Chuck Whalen, Jr. of Dayton, Ohio Admitted to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky, and Colorado, United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Military Appeal, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States District Court for Southern District of Ohio, and United States District Court for Eastern District of Kentucky. Member of Bar Association of those states as well as Cincinnati Bar Association and Northern Kentucky Bar Association and American Bar Association. Private Civil Law Practice in large metropolitan law firms until opening my own practice in 1997. Chief Inspector, Ohio Department of Job & Family Services Former Navy prosecutor and Special United States Attorney. Political Office Currently Symmes Township Trustee (1995-present) Formerly Indian Hill School Board Member and Great Oaks School Board Member.
