Originally, I am from the Sterling / Dixon / Rock Falls area of northern Illinois. In 1980 I relocated to Redondo Beach where I have lived since. Following are some highlights about myself;

·Married ·17years; Willetta Bayer McCulloh, Principal, ENVIRON Architecture

·Daughter; Connor, 6th grade, within the Redondo Unified School District.

·Education; BA, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois.

· Raised Funds for California Public Interest Research Group; Serving CALPIRG, I raised funds by bringing people together from many backgrounds and socioeconomic levels, across the entire Los Angeles county area. Using a "grassroots" approach afforded the opportunity to understand and identify with what the average citizen faces on a day-to-day basis.

· Vice President Marketing, Provident Title Company; Beverly Hills, California, Special Projects, 14 years.

· Member of Redondo Beach Unified School District Textbook Adoption Committees; Beginning in 2001, I joined adoption committees to choose the textbooks for Social Studies, Math, and Science. Currently, the textbook for Language Arts has been under consideration. This process illustrated some of the qualities that work for and against our District in Redondo Beach; what limitation teachers face in acquiring quality textbooks for our students, and limitations the administration bring due to cost consideration and negotiation with publishers.

· Seven-year member of the PTA # 007812 at Jefferson Elementary. My support of the PTA was as a "do-er", and a contributor to the PTA efforts. The presence and value of this organization in our children's lives has no equal. My thoughts are in line with the objects of the PTA, paraphrased they are: · To promote the welfare of children; · To raise the standards of home life; · To secure adequate laws for the care and protections of children; · To bring closer the relation of home and school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of our children; · To develop between educator and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.

· The Neighborhood Watch Block Captain; Knowing your neighbors and becoming involved in the issues which face the community in which you live, is one of the best ways to make a positive difference.

· Redondo Beach Adopt-A-Park Program for Fulton Park and the Green Flag Project; Originally, through the Department of Parks and Recreation, I signed a contract with the city to adopt our local Fulton Park. During a major public works effort, the Green Flag project, to re-route, repair and install a major water drainage system for north Redondo, along with many concerned neighbors, we came together to save the character of Fulton Park. By making contact with our city councilman, Mike Gin, the Department of Parks and Recreation Supervisor, Harry Johnson, City Engineer, Steve Huang, and superviser for Rados Construction, and using a "face-to-face" approach, we were able to achieve success. In the end, by engendering the good will of all organizations involved, we saved 60-year-old trees; preserve our neighborhood park and quality of life, by showing we cared.
