Mike believes in serving the entire community. He is a former Mayor of Signal Hill, a past Chair of the Redevelopment Agency, and served on the Civil Service and Planning Commissions. The President of the California League of Cities appointed Mike to the Policy Revenue Taxation Committee, and he presently serves as a Director of the L.A. Sanitation District, and SERF Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern California Cities Apartment Association.
