Libertarians, liberals and conservativesBy Richard KofflerCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 41 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Many wrongly think that libertarians are extremists. The fact is that "liberals" and "conservatives" are at the extremes."Liberals" favor extensive governmental regulation of economic issues and high taxes, while they are somewhat relaxed about regulating personal issues. "Conservatives" favor governmental regulation of personal issues, while they are somewhat relaxed about regulating economic issues. Either way, both liberals and conservatives are enamored with big, "nanny" government. Libertarians favor both economic and personal freedom, and reject big government. Libertarians are committed to individual liberty, personal responsibility, and a free-market economy of abundance and prosperity. Still not sure if you are a libertarian at heart?
