Political Philosophy for Cindy Thomas

Petaluma is a special place with both a small town character and a thriving economic center. Imagine living in a safe, healthy city that welcomes families; a city that creates parks, open space and ball fields instead of sprawl. Imagine a city that improves its roadways without taking money from police and fire services. Imagine this as our own city, Petaluma. This is my vision for Petaluma. This is why I am running for City Council this November. This vision of mine, which is commonly shared by my family and by many other people and families in our community, cannot be acquired by myself. This is a joint effort, a joint venture which will require not only my input as your voice on the City Council but will also require full public participation in the process through your public comment at City Council meetings, by your letters of support to the City Council, and by community outreach. I am committed to fight for the needs of our community. This is our fight, an effort we will own together... community decisions made collectively as members and owners of this community. It's time for us to take our city government back from those who have acted irresponsibly on our behalf in the past. I ask for your support by voting for me on November 2nd, and I pledge to never leave you unrepresented at a City Council meeting as has been done in the past. |
