2.Work with Local, County, & State agencies for a business friendly environment for all.Morro Bay is not an island, and we are not alone in meeting fiscal and environmental challenges. Communication is key, beginning with the business community itself below and above the Embarcadero and out to North Morro Bay. We must reach out to neighboring towns and agencies to see what we can learn or with whom we may join forces. Then, there is the State, which is also awash in fiscal turmoil that further affects us. One sure way to compound our problems and cut off communication, is to ignore State directives and mandates and sue! If we hope to address issues affecting our beaches, our fishermen, and our our housing needs, we have to have someone to communicate with. It takes a persistent, insistent, electorate who uses all viable means at their disposal to get the attention of State Representatives. As a business man, I have leaned valuable and sometimes costly lessons to appreciate the "art" of communication and the power of team play. |
