WaterBy Fred StrongCandidate for Councilmember; City of Paso Robles | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Current solutions lead to future opportunities. Nacimiento water has already been contracted for. We cannot change that. We must look to the opportunities this presents.Paso Robles is currently being fined regularly for discharging water with undisolved solids that are too high. Blending with Nacimiento water should allow us to meet State standards. Lower use of private water softeners will also help. An additional pipeline, in the future, between Whale Rock Reservoir and Lake Nacimiento could provide the means for creation of a regional water authority. That creation could also provide water from desalinization projects as well as other sources to achieve water solutions for the entire region. This combination should give us the best possible water quantities and qualities possible. I will work for realistic, cost efficient opportunities to meet our future needs. |
