There is NO substitute

A member of the City Council gains the ability to direct staff from two very distinct sources. First and foremost is the ability to understand the various components of government and how they affect the community directly. Administration, Public Works, Planning, Engineering, Building, Finance, Fire, Police and several sub categories such as recreation, visitor serving, wastewater treatment and the corporation yard are extremely important and all have lives of their own. Coordination by the City Manager and direction from Council keeps our City operating efficiently.

The second important component is the interaction of a Council member with the community. As a representative only, the Council member must take into consideration potential impacts without regard for personal gain. Many wonderful ideas have come forward from public suggestions and many have been taken to heart by our Council and moved forward.

The understanding of the governmental process and the sincere desire to receive public input and suggestions is where I excel. I have never and will never compromise any situation that may have a potentially negative effect on our community. With 6 years of experience, I have witnessed many events take shape and have been a proponent of many. Long term planning must be at the forefront of our thinking. Without it, we will be constantly looking for answers to obvious questions. If you get into a car with no destination in mind, how long will it take you to get nowhere? With my help and input, we are finally moving in the right direction. I am willing to serve another term to make certain you are represented and are part of the process. My record speaks for itself and I encourage you to watch our Council meetings of Channel 20 in Pismo Beach. You will get a first hand look at the Council and how they respond to you and your concerns. My experience and best efforts are at your service. I give you my word!
