Moving Beyond Politics, Focusing on Solutions

On November 2nd, you have the power to change our community for the better by using the most important tool at your disposal: Your Vote.

Many people believe this is the most important election in a generation. I agree. Not only will you decide who should lead our country, but just as important, you will decide who can best lead our community.

As you make your choice for District 7 Supervisor, I ask that you consider the following:

  • Which candidate will ensure that your voice is heard in City Hall?
  • Which candidate is a City Hall outsider but has extensive, real-world experience in solving community problems?
  • Which candidate has demonstrated financial responsibility in the nonprofit sector by stretching every dollar as far as it can go?
  • Which candidate has spent a career building consensus amongst diverse viewpoints?
  • Which candidate has made the central theme of the campaign making City Hall more accessible and accountable to community members?

We know that our district and our city face numerous challenges. We also know that intelligent, thoughtful, transparent and pragmatic leadership is what we most need to best overcome these challenges. In order to make our community stronger, we must elect leaders who will change the way City Hall is doing business.

I believe that City Hall Fever--the problem created when elected officials care more about what is happening inside City Hall rather than what is going on in our neighborhoods--is the biggest impediment to improving our community. Solutions do not rest solely in the hands of politicians, but rather in the heads and hearts of our community members. Of the thousands of District 7 residents my volunteers and I have met during this campaign, we have heard thousands of solutions to making our community stronger. As Supervisor, I will ensure that your ideas make it to City Hall. We must end the era of politics as usual and return City Hall back to the people.

I ask that you consider making me your next Supervisor. As you will read on this website and hear from me on the campaign trail, I'm running for Supervisor because I believe we must move beyond politics. We must focus on people and issues. In order to clean-up our parks, improve our schools, take care of our seniors, provide adequate housing for all our residents, solve our budget problems and fix the numerous other issues that are important to you, we need leaders who go beyond the rhetoric. We need leaders who listen to you, learn from you and provide leadership for you.

On November 2nd, you have the power to influence what happens in City Hall for the next four years. I ask that you join me in a partnership to Cure City Hall Fever.

Thank you.
