Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I am running for the City Council 6th District Seat. As your representative, I will be responsive to community needs and will have an "open door" policy to meet with any community group that wants to meet with me. Homeowners' groups, apartment associations, business clubs, focus groups, social service organizations, parents, churches and teachers all have important ideas to share.

Serving you more effectively and efficiently at City Hall will be a high priority. I will work to foster good communication between city government and Pomona residents. As your elected representative, I will seek input and support from all members of our community. I will work to establish community forums and lunchtime chats where community members can share ideas and solutions with each other and with city leadership.

If elected, I will bring people together for the purpose of finding solutions to the many challenges our children face. Our youth need after school programs, life-skills development, pre-employment training, and employment opportunities. They need sound, practical guidance that will assist them in making wholesome life decisions. As your Council member, I will work to promote a safe, learning and fun environment for our children. Through the programs we develop together, we can make District 6 a model for the whole city.

"Putting Pomona First" will require creative thinking, heartfelt passion and practical action on the part of all of us. As city government workers, community residents and area business leaders, we must partner together to seek appropriate housing and business developments for District 6. Indeed, as one community + one people working together + we can make a monumental difference. I look forward to this challenge, and ask for your vote on November 2nd!

Respectfully,

Amos Jackson Young
