A COMMUNITY FREE FROM FEAR I support efforts such as: Much more vigorous code enforcement Community-oriented policing with Sheriff bike and foot patrols/park patrol Greater community involvement in crime intervention and crime prevention Reduce and better manage traffic on our streets COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT I pledge to: Encourage the development of project that preserver and/or enhance the quality of life of our community Encourage the pursuit of quality family type restaurants Promote the growth of businesses which provide job opportunities to Carson residents Promote the growth of businesses which provide opportunities for Carson based small businesses A VOICE FOR OUR YOUTH I pledge to push for local industrial and technical businesses to commit resources to help our young people prepare for the jobs and career opportunities associated with the: Improvements to the Long Beach Port and port of Los Angeles project, and Pacific Rim trade and other long-term job producing projects Mentor programs through parks & recreation In addition, I will work to attract entertainment venues for our young people 18 and over. A VOICE FOR OUR SENIORS I am familiar with the Senior Programs offered by the City. The programs will continue to receive my full support. In addition, I am committed to supporting desirable affordable housing such as mobile homes parks, senior housing development and similar developments. |
