Improve Pomona's ImageBy Vernon L. "Vern" PriceCandidate for Mayor; City of Pomona | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The preception of Pomona must be changed, not my preception but the preception of others.Only those communities that are desireable to live in, that offer a good quality of life, and those that instill pride in their residents can prosper. I will provide the leadership for Pomona to identify itself instead of allowing others to identify Pomona. I will work full-time and tirelessly to make Pomona a prosperous and vibrant city. Funding is available to enhance the entrances into the city, Garey Avenue, South White Avenue, Towne Avenue and Holt Avenue. We must clean-up these areas so invited guests can clearly see something in happening in Pomona. Above all, we must publicize the good things about Pomona, Lincoln Park, Ganasha Hills, Mountain Meadows, Phillips Ranch, Casa Colina, Pomona Valley Hospital, the Auto Center and Downtown. Please help remove the misguided preception of Pomona. Also, Pomona must increase home ownership. More than 43% of our housing is rented thus creating an image of a transient and unstable population. Current estimates to repair our deteriorating infrastructure is $120 million plus. This deteriorating infrastructure generates an image not in the best interest of the city. With everyone working together, we can fix these image problems. Thanks for your support. |
