I believe voters are best qualified to select what is best for them from amongst the ideas presented by candidates. For this reason details are presented without trying to imply any of these ideas would be easily implemented. Lack of funds, approval of relevant agencies, etc., may delay, and even prevent, some from being implemented.

Support by the responsible officials ought to be, and will be, acknowledged and their much greater area of responsibility acknowledged and respected, with my gratitude and support, and that of the voters.

Claims of originality would be a distraction; none is implied. If you heard the same ideas elsewhere, fine, only their implementation matters to me, and to the voters.

I hope voters select me to try as hard as I can to produce results, and be accountable in all meanings of this term.

My most relevant experience was in the military, where I learnt to listen carefully to detect critical aspects, learnt to ask questions to resolve ambiguities, formulate a definition of the problem, try to evalute alternatives and try to find the best one.

MAC is an Advisory Council; I will respond to objections or requests for information fully, respectfully and quickly. I will focus on learning relevant internal procedures. I am aware others have greater area of respoonsibility and use different priorities.
To facilitate learning, I intend to support the ideas of experienced MAC members, as best I can, to learn procedures as soon as possible. I expect the tasks to be amongst the most interesting and difficult I have encountered. I intend to succeed and earn voter approval in future elections.

  • I favor bimonthly meetings to keep meetings within the scheduled period and double the opportunity for voters to present their concerns.

  • I favor trying the option of TV recording of any, brief, testimony voters wish to bring to the attention of MAC. This could be recorded at convenient times during normal staff working hours.

  • I favor consideration of sending staff to record a minute or two, in TV, of situations a voter wish to bring to the attention of MAC, for a fee. The fee to be high enough to discourage frivolous use. Official recording preclude distortion of the record.

  • I also favor evaluating problems in broadcasting MAC Meetings on the Internet (via modem) and promote use of the Internet in Bay Point using the existing, fine, Computer Center at Ambrose Center.
