Basic Concepts of Leadership

Your words and your actions create your legitimacy - create a vision of life that is embodied in your actions. Be positive; friendly, realistic. Be in constant contact with your community. Good leadership takes place through communication of ideas to the minds of others. A good leader who succeeds is the one who senses and delivers what an audience already desires.

Conceptual Ideas Relating to BART

1.BART's employees have untapped talents, abilities, and virtues.
2.Bad management is the root of all BART's problems.
3.Need to create a responsible management to motivate BART employees to be responsible.
4.Some managers have been selfish and exploitative but some have been charitable - let's separate the chaff from the wheat!
5.Must right the grave injustices and inefficiencies and promote competency and fairness.
6.Mediate between the forces impacting BART.
7. Create equity within BART; the organization, its employees, and its patrons.

It is the public we serve!
