The questions were prepared by the League of Women Voters of Ohio and asked of all candidates for this office.
Read the answers from all candidates.
1. What are your qualifications for office?
As a conservative Democrat State Representative I know how to build coalitions, having passed legislation as a minority member of the 124th General Assembly. I have fought tax increases, created jobs for working families, worked to lower the cost of prescription drugs, rewarded our student achievers, and protected retirees' savings.
2. How would you implement your top priority?
Corporations are rewriting state tax laws and shifting the tax burden onto middle class families. We need to change the state's tax policy to one of fairness that reduces the tax burden on hard working families. Cutting taxes will give us more money to spend and help grow Ohio's economy. Ohio's property taxes are the highest around, and the Columbus lawmakers must stop shifting the state's responsibilities onto the backs of local property owners and taxpayers.
U.S. Senate: Total words in answer to the question may not exceed 100 words. The word limit must be observeds. Words over the limit will be cut off in published information.
