  • Senior enforcement attorney, State of California Fair Political Practices Commission, 1990 to 2001
  • Deputy Attorney General, State of California Attorney General's Office, 2001 to present
  • Successfully settled or prosecuted over forty campaign contribution money laundering cases resulting in the imposition of monetary fines
  • Over fourteen years of experience as a government attorney fighting political corruption and corporate fraud

Top Priorities if Elected
  • Opposes public financing for a $540 million downtown sports arena and opposes tax increases to build a $790 million light rail on Truxel Rd in Natomas
  • Instead, in these tough economic times, Mark's top priority will be to retain and recruit the best police and firefighters for our city.
  • Mark will accept only half of the mayor's designated salary, and once elected, Mark will not accept any more campaign contributions for 4 full years.
