During her 8 years residence in Fremont, Anjali's public service and leadership includes volunteering for the LIFE Elder Care Meals on Wheels program, the Fremont Cultural Arts Council, Second Harvest Food Bank and Shelter. She is also very active in the SYDA Fremont Center, where she has held many leadership positions and at the Oakland Headquarters, where she served as a Department Manager for a worldwide retreat. Over the years, Anjali has been a grassroots volunteer for many political campaigns.

Anjali and her husband, Raj, have been married for eight years. They support numerous charitable organizations, including SAVE, LOV Newark, Second Harvest Food Bank and Shelter, The Prasad Project, Muktabodha Indological Research Institute, and SYDA Foundation. They are members of the East Bay Regional Parks Foundation and Charter Members of The Tech Museum of Innovation.

Her hobbies include yoga, hiking, biking and skiing. She speaks several different languages, including Hindi, Portuguese and Spanish.

At Union Sanitary District, Anjali has served on the Personnel committee, and currently sits on the Legislative and Legal/Community Affairs Committees. She was selected by the Board to be the District's CSDA representative. Ms. Lathi received Recognition in Special District Governance, awarded by the Special District Leadership Foundation for dedication and expertise to providing the best services to a local community.

She earned both her Bachelor's degree in Economics, and her law degree, from the University of California at Davis. She is a member of the California State Bar, and has worked in the public sector as a deputy district attorney, and in the private sector as defense counsel, protecting school and community college districts. She also holds a real estate broker's license.
